What are the advantages of using Publector?
The major advantage with Publector is that all content is web-based. Publications are built in the same way as websites, which makes them more accessible compared to other file formats, such as PDF. Publication content can easily be enlarged, read aloud, copied and shared. Whether you’re on a mobile device or a desktop, you have access to all the content on Publector. All you need is a computer or a smartphone, and access to the internet.
What are the advantages for a publisher?
In addition to the high level of accessibility, Publector offers cost-effective methods for publishing e-books. There is no need for the publishers to change their way of working. It is very convenient to collect all publications in one digital library. E-books on Publector are cloud based and therefore are accessible anytime, anywhere.
What is an "e-book"?
An e-book is an electronic/digital version of a publication. Besides what is available on Publector, there are many other e-book formats, such as EPUB and PDF.
Which browsers are compatible with Publector?
Most modern web browsers. Old versions of especially Internet Explorer (IE9 and older) are not compatible with Publector. Microsoft has stopped supporting old versions of Internet Explorer, and is recommending their users to switch to Edge. We recommend the web browser Google Chrome.
Why doesn’t Publector have any advertisements?
The reason is simple. Advertising is not a part of any publication on Publector. Therefore, we cannot insert advertisements into content. Aside from that, we also want to give our users the best reading experience possible, and the key to that is to keep the publications advertisement free.
Why should I create an account?
It is completely optional to create an account. However, we think having a user account improves the reading experience. As a member of Publector, you can bookmark publications, save personal reading settings, create a personal profile and more.
How do I enlarge the text in a publication?
We recommend the built-in text enlarger in the reading view under "Reading settings", but you can also zoom in your web browser.
Does Publector support “text-to-speech” in publications?
Yes. Publector offers "text-to-speech" in over 50 different languages. Publications written in one of these languages will have a speaker button at the top. Click it and follow the instructions.
How do I translate a publication?
You can use Google Translate to either translate parts of a publication or entire publications.
I can only read the first part of some publications, why is that?
In those cases the publisher has chosen to only provide a sample.
I have forgotten my password, how do I reset it?
You can easily reset your password here. Enter your username/e-mail and a reset-link will be sent to your e-mail adress.
